Natur Bohne presents: our first dark roast with 50% Canephora content

May we introduce? Vesuvius - our spirited new addition to the Natur Bohne range. Named after the famous volcano in Italy, Vesuvius stands for strength, depth and passion. A composition that not only surprises with its unusually high canephora content of 50%, but also with its dark roast, which combines intense roasted aromas with a fine spiciness.

Why Canephora? Why now?

In a world full of Arabica roasts, we are deliberately setting an example. Canephora (also known as Robusta) has characteristics that are often underestimated in the specialty world - and which we deliberately showcase in Vesuvius:

  • Powerful crema: a real eye-catcher, especially in the portafilter machine.
  • Increased caffeine power: For those who really want to wake up in the morning.
  • Spicy, earthy notes: Ideal for lovers of strong espressos and café cremas.

In combination with high-quality Arabica from organic cultivation, the result is a full-bodied, bittersweet taste experience with notes of dark chocolate, dark caramel and a hint of tobacco.

The roast: dark, but differentiated

Our Vesuvius roast is not scorched earth - on the contrary. We roast longer and more gently to emphasize the canephora character without overtaxing the bean. The result is a strong espresso with depth, but without unpleasant bitterness.
