What sets the Eureka Mignon Oro XL apart from its siblings?

The same product line, different configurations. The rows come from the same data sheet that appears further below.

Eureka Mignon Oro XL
Eureka Mignon Oro XL Price from £430.00
Grinder type
hopper grinders (on-demand grinders)

The beans sit in the hopper and are ground on demand. This is the faster way in everyday life, especially if the same coffee is used all the time. A full hopper, however, means that the beans at the bottom are exposed to the air for longer.

Grinder
65 mm

The diameter of the grinding burrs determines how many revolutions are needed for the same amount of coffee. Larger burrs need fewer revolutions, the grind warms up less, and heat in the grind reduces aroma.

Burrs
flat, 65 mm, Pure Diamond

Coated burrs stay sharp longer than uncoated ones. That lengthens the interval between replacements, but does not change the grind profile as long as the burrs are sharp.

Grind size adjustment
stepless, micrometric

The grinder grinds for a set time. That is quick for everyday use, but you have to readjust it when the bean changes or when the grind size changes, because then a different amount will flow in the same time.

Dosing
timed dose control

A large hopper means less frequent refilling. Bear in mind that beans age in it: anything that stays in the hopper for longer than a few days loses aroma, no matter how good the grinder is.

Control
No app control
Grinding capacity
2.3 g/s

The grinder output indicates how much ground coffee comes out per second. For a single drink you hardly notice it, as extraction and milk determine the time. You only feel it when many drinks are made back to back.

Who the Eureka Mignon Oro XL is made for

It is ground even at six in the morning.

The beans sit in the hopper, ground on demand. This is the faster way when the same variety is always running.

Is the Eureka Mignon Oro XL suitable for filter coffee?

The Eureka Mignon Oro XL is primarily designed for espresso. It is less recommended for filter coffee, as it often does not deliver the consistent particle size at coarser grind settings that is important for an optimal filter coffee result.

Difference between Mignon Oro XL and Mignon Libra 65 – functionally relevant for purchasing decision?

For applications where exact reproducibility is important, the Mignon Libra 65 is recommended, as it features an integrated scale for weight-based dosing. The Oro XL, on the other hand, operates with timer control without a scale function. Both models have current features such as Silent Technology and the ELR system.

Warranty for commercial use, does the manufacturer's warranty apply for continuous operation in the office?

The Mignon Oro XL is designed for private use and smaller office applications. It is not intended for continuous commercial use. Eureka provides a 2-year manufacturer's warranty against material and manufacturing defects. For intensive commercial use, the manufacturer recommends models with higher throughput.

Wer absolute Ruhe will, greift zur Handmühle.
