A heat exchanger keeps brew water and steam ready at the same time. You pull espresso and steam milk without switching and without waiting.
The E61 was introduced in 1961 and has remained the reference point since.
Copper conducts heat quickly and evenly, which is why it is the classic boiler material.
With a tank the machine does not need a water connection and can be placed anywhere there is a power outlet.
58 millimeters is the most common size.
Before full pressure the coffee grounds are pre-wetted with low pressure.

The E61 was introduced in 1961 and has remained the reference point since. A thermosiphon keeps it at temperature continuously, instead of you having to search for it before each shot. You can get seals, shower screens and portafilters for it from specialty dealers, not just the manufacturer.
The vibration pump is the most common type for home use: compact, affordable, reliable. It is audible, namely for the duration of the extraction, about half a minute.
Copper conducts heat quickly and evenly, which is why it is the classic boiler material. It reacts more sensitively to hard water than stainless steel; a water filter or soft water significantly extends the time between descalings.
Before full pressure the coffee grounds are pre-wetted with low pressure. This is done mechanically through the design of the brew group, without electronics and without adjustments. It prevents channeling in the puck, that is spots where the water breaks through too quickly.
With Flow Control you manually control how quickly the water runs through the coffee grounds: start slowly, then increase pressure. That takes the edge off acidic beans and gives you an extra adjustment. Without Flow Control the extraction runs at a fixed pressure, and that is enough for most recipes.
With a tank the machine does not need a water connection and can be placed anywhere there is a power outlet. For that you have to refill, and the water quality is in your hands: filtered or soft water reduces descaling.
58 millimeters is the most common size. Baskets, tampers, levelers and distributors are available for it from many manufacturers, so you are not tied to an unusual size or a single supplier.
The top surface of the machine is warmed by residual heat. A prewarmed cup draws less heat from the espresso, and those last degrees decide whether it still tastes the same in the glass as in the cup.
The machine switches itself off after a set time or goes into a low-power state. That saves electricity when you turn it on in the morning and then forget about it during the day. Without standby it stays on until you switch it off.

Start recipe: 17-18 g in the double basket → 34-38 g in 25-28 s
Feldberg organic coffee Colombia, Omniroast Single OriginPanela and caramel on the first sip, followed by almond and dark chocolate, plus a distinct dried fruit note and a lively, juicy acidity.
Start recipe: 17-18 g in the double basket → 36-40 g (Brew Ratio 1:2 to 1:2.3) in 28-32 s
Beans ship free with the machine and come from the same roast week.
Wiedecent Tamper V6 58.35 mmThe tamper supplied with most machines is made of plastic. A properly fitting tamper fills the portafilter basket to the edge, and it is exactly there that you find out whether the water will flow through evenly.
Brewing group brush with wooden handleRun it through the brew group once a day, two minutes of work. Without that, coffee oils build up on the shower screen and the extraction becomes uneven long before you taste it.
PULY Caff Powder NSFBackflush with a blind basket every one to two weeks. This removes the coffee oils from the group head and valve that the water jet does not reach.

I recommend the Quick Mill 0980 Andreja Evo if you want to drink espresso and cappuccino regularly. It has an E61 brew group and a dual circuit system. This allows you to brew espresso while simultaneously frothing milk. The temperature remains stable. Ideal for coffee enthusiasts who place great value on diverse coffee recipes.
The Andreja Evo operates as a classic dual boiler with a 1.8-liter copper boiler and E61 brew group. The temperature remains stable during normal throughput. With quick back-to-back shots, the temperature fluctuates in the heat exchanger. Since there is no PID installed, you control it with a cooling flush. For a more consistent temperature, I recommend the Elevate R. It offers PID control for both boilers and maintains the brew temperature consistently even with many extractions.
The E61 brew group of the Quickmill Rubino operates with mechanical pre-infusion. This cannot be programmed. For precise and exactly repeatable pre-infusion, I recommend a machine with programmable control.
The Andreja Evo uses a 1.8-liter copper boiler with an E61 brew group. After complete heating, the brew temperature remains stable between the espressos. The E61 group retains heat, while the copper boiler compensates for temperature fluctuations. Precise temperature selection for light roasts is not possible without PID control. For more accurate control and consistent results with specialty roasts, I recommend the Rubino Plus with PID.
The Andreja Evo takes about 15–20 minutes for the brew group and boiler to warm up. This is normal for dual boilers with a copper boiler. If you want to start quickly in the morning, use the Elevate R. It is ready in 12 minutes and maintains the temperature more stable between espressos. Or use a timer for the Andreja Evo, so it is already warm when you come into the kitchen.
With the Andreja Evo, you work with the E61 brew group featuring a mechanical pre-infusion function. You slightly lift the lever, water slowly wets the coffee grounds, then you pull through. For light roasts with high density, you need a good feel and timing for this. If you want reproducible pre-infusion times without manual control, take a look at the Rubino Plus. Here, you set the pre-infusion time and temperature directly on the display – practical for Light Roasts thanks to precise repeatability.
The Quick Mill Andreja Evo operates with a vibration pump and copper boiler. It is suitable for daily use at home. For café operations, I recommend a machine with a rotary pump and large boiler, as these are more durable in the long run.
