CEPRO Yanesha Kooperative (Indigenous Yanesha community, 141 coffee farmers from 7 villages, founded 2016)
Andenperle grows in the montane rainforest of Villa Rica in the Oxapampa province, grown by members of the indigenous Yanesha community. The Yanesha are among the oldest indigenous peoples of Peru.
In the cooperative CEPRO Yanesha 141 coffee farmers from seven villages pool their harvest, of which 43 are women. Together they reach quantities and quality standards that individual families could not enforce on the world market. The cooperative is organic and Fairtrade certified and is listed under FLO-ID 34607.
The coffee gardens lie at 1,200 to 1,800 meters, in the middle of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Oxapampa-Ashaninka-Yanesha. The reserve protects some of the last largely undisturbed ecosystems of central Peru.
Every cherry is hand selected and processed using the washed method. This step is the reason for the clarity that distinguishes Andenperle from heavier espressos.
