Häufige Fragen

Antworten aus unserer Beratung. Wenn deine Frage fehlt, schreib sie unten rein.

What distinguishes the Dalla Corte Studio Aqua from the Dalla Corte Studio?

The Dalla Corte Studio Aqua differs from the Dalla Corte Studio mainly due to the integrated hot water supply. With this additional feature, you can prepare not only espresso but also various tea preparations and other beverages like Caffè Americano. Furthermore, the Studio Aqua offers enhanced functionality for creative coffee art, ideal for demanding home baristas.

How quickly is the machine ready for use after being turned on, can we start serving immediately?

The Studio takes 12 minutes for both boilers to reach operating temperature. Due to the 5.8 kg heavy brass brew group, the complete heating process takes a bit longer. For clean espresso right at the start of service, turn on the machine at least 15 minutes beforehand. The Studio does not offer a standby mode. Those who want very short lead times are better off working with a multi-group machine in continuous operation in the gastro everyday life.

How quickly can I switch between espresso extraction and steam without the brew temperature dropping?

The Studio Aqua operates with separate brew and steam boilers. The brew boiler has a volume of 0.5 liters and maintains a constant temperature during steam extraction. This allows you to quickly switch between espresso and steam without the brew temperature dropping. You pull an espresso and froth milk right after, and it works reliably. If you prepare several cappuccinos one after the other, short breaks between the cycles are recommended to ensure temperature stability.

How stable is the brew temperature of the Studio Aqua over multiple shots, especially compared to classic E61 dual boilers?

The Studio Aqua features a 0.5-liter brew boiler directly above the brew group with PID control. Dalla Corte specifies a temperature variation of less than 1.6 °C over multiple shots, even without a cooling flush. This is significantly tighter than E61 thermosiphon systems, where you often need 20-30 minutes of warm-up time and still experience larger fluctuations. The warm-up time here is 12 minutes. The set temperature is the temperature at the puck, no offset calculation needed.

What type of pump does Dalla Corte use in the Studio, vibration or rotary? And what does that mean for the longevity in continuous operation?

The Dalla Corte Studio uses a rotary pump. This ensures a constant brewing pressure and quiet operation at around 54 dB. This is suitable for home baristas. For commercial continuous operation, I recommend a machine that is explicitly approved for many extractions.

How accessible are the boiler, pump, and valves in the Studio for maintenance and repair, or does the machine need to go to the workshop every time?

The service accessibility of the Studio is moderate. You can access the boiler and pump through the side panels, but the valves and flow meters are installed deeper. Routine maintenance such as seal replacement on the brew group or filter cleaning can be done by yourself. For descaling, pump replacement, or valve service, you need Dalla Corte-trained partners from the service network. The machine is not a DIY model like older E61 machines. Plan maintenance intervals and expect downtime when parts need to be replaced.

What specific advantages does the hot water outlet of the Aqua bring me in the daily workflow, besides Americano?

The hot water outlet expands your recipe spectrum without a second machine: Americano directly after the shot, tea infusions between espresso sessions, pre-warming cups without a steam wand. You save yourself the switching between steam and espresso for short beverage sequences. The separate outlet keeps the brew boiler untouched, no thermal drift from hot water extraction like in single-boiler systems. For multi-recipe setups without compromises in espresso extraction.

How stable is the brewing temperature of the Studio really over multiple shots, is the 0.5-liter brew boiler sufficient for back-to-back extractions?

The 0.5-liter brew boiler is located directly above the brew group. The temperature display shows you the actual brew temperature without offset. The massive 5.8 kg brass saturation chamber maintains the temperature consistently over several espressos. Compared to the E61 thermosiphon technique, you do not need manual flush management. After 12 minutes of heating time, you have full temperature stability for 3–4 espressos in a row. The 1.5-liter steam boiler capacity provides enough reserve for parallel milk texturing without affecting the brew temperature.

How does the proprietary brew group of the Studio differ from a classic E61 in terms of maintenance and thermal performance?

The saturated brew chamber of the Studio has fewer moving parts than an E61 – less mechanical wear, less lubrication effort. The 5.8 kg heavy brass unit minimizes heat loss. The separate 0.5-liter boiler directly above the group delivers precise PID-controlled temperature without thermosiphon drift. With E61, you often have to perform cooling flushes and calculate offsets, not here. Material: lead-free CW510L brass in all water-contact parts. Descaling remains manageable, the group operates more reliably.

What pump does Dalla Corte use in the Studio, Vibe or Rotary? And how does this affect the pressure curve?

The Studio uses a vibration pump. This is unusual in this price range, as many dual boilers rely on rotary pumps. Vibration pumps naturally produce less consistent pressure than rotary models and are louder in operation. If absolutely even pressure consistency and silent extraction are important to you, the SANREMO YOU with gear pump would be the better choice from our range. The Studio, however, scores with its proprietary brew group and precise temperature management, which for many baristas is the more important variable.
