How to read the comparison

Grinder type
On-demand grinders grind straight from the hopper and are faster for many shots of one coffee. Single dose grinders grind each dose separately and suit changing beans.
Grinder
Larger burrs mainly grind faster and handle more use. There is no proven taste advantage of large burrs.
Burrs
The shape and coating of the burrs shape the taste more than their size, for example more body or more clarity.
Grind size adjustment
Stepless means you can fine-tune the grind freely. With steps you find a setting again more easily.
Dosing
Timers grind for a set time, grinders with a scale stop at the set weight in grams. Manual means you weigh yourself.
Grinding capacity
Grams per second shows how fast a dose is ready. In a busy café this makes a noticeable difference.
Recommended daily throughput
The daily volume is set by the manufacturer. For a café it matters more than any convenience feature.
Bean hopper
A large hopper saves refilling. If you grind little, beans stay fresher in a small hopper.
Motor power
Wattage alone says little about durability. What matters is approval, rest periods and cooling.
Weight
The weight helps you plan counter space and transport.
Area of application
The use case is our classification from datasheet and advice. The manufacturer's approval is in the manual.

Frequently asked questions

Which grinder suits my taste?

That depends mainly on the shape and coating of the burrs. Tell us which coffee you drink and we will recommend suitable grinders.

Is a home grinder enough for a café?

Usually not. Many manufacturers limit home grinders to a daily volume and exclude hospitality use. Check the daily volume row and the manual.

Timer or scale?

Both dose precisely. The scale saves you weighing, it does not change the taste.

Why does it sometimes say “not specified”?

We only enter values the manufacturer states. If a value is missing, we would rather ask than guess.
