The Rocket R58 Tune is the logical evolution of the classic dual-boiler machine from Milan—now featuring programmable Tune Technology, a Fast Heat-Up E61 brew group, and a full-color display. You take control of every stage of extraction without sacrificing the signature Rocket character.

Tune Technology: Program pressure curves with time control

The new Tune Technology makes the R58 Tune one of the few E61 machines that allow you to control the brewing pressure in phases. A time-controlled pre-infusion at reduced pressure and a controlled final phase at 3 bar can be set directly on the display—for profiles otherwise only offered by flow-control machines.

Dual boiler with dual PID: independent brew and steam temperatures

Two separate boilers—0.58 liters for the brew group, 1.8 liters for steam and hot water—are kept at a stable temperature via digital Dual-PID control. You can brew espresso and froth milk simultaneously without any drop in pressure or temperature.

Fast Heat-Up E61 brew group

The TCA E61 Fast Heat brew group reduces the heat-up time to about 10 minutes—a significant improvement over classic E61 designs. You retain the thermal stability and mechanical pre-infusion of the original E61, but save noticeable time in the morning.

Rotary Pump and Direct Water Connection

The whisper-quiet rotary pump operates either with the 1.9-liter water tank or via the direct water connection. You can switch between the two—ideal if you want to start with the tank and switch to direct water later.

Push-Turn controls and immersive display

The new push-turn buttons for steam and hot water combine the flush function (push) and volume control (turn) in a single element. The removable full-color display shows PID values, tune phases, and shot timers—cleanly organized and integrated into the new monolithic housing design.

Who is the R58 Tune designed for?

The R58 Tune is aimed at experienced home baristas and purists who appreciate programmable pressure profiles without sacrificing the mechanical feel of an E61. The operating logic is challenging for beginners—but for those who want to consciously develop profiles, this is one of the most versatile home dual-boiler machines currently on the market.

Which R58 version is right for whom?

Rocket R58 Tune – if you want to program profiles

The right choice if you value programmable pressure phases, fast heat-up time, and modern operating logic with a display. Ideal for home baristas who actively tune their extraction without switching to flow control hardware.

Rocket R58 V2 – if you’re looking for the classic E61 character at a reduced price

A solid choice as a clearance item at other retailers if you don’t need programmable profiles and can live with a longer heat-up time. Mechanical E61 pre-infusion remains the proven standard. Note: Tune Technology, display, and push-turn controls are missing.

Rocket R58 (Original) – only available used

No longer available new. A proven E61 machine on the used market, though without newer convenience features. When buying used, pay attention to maintenance history, boiler condition, and gaskets.

Recommendation from Naturbohne

For those investing in a new machine today, the R58 Tune offers significantly greater future-proofing: Tune Technology is unmatched in this price range, and the heat-up time is cut in half compared to its predecessor. Remaining stock of the V2 is only attractive if the price advantage is at least 400 to 500 euros—otherwise, the Tune is clearly the better overall package.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Tune Technology on the Rocket R58 Tune?

Tune Technology is a programmable, time-controlled pressure profiling feature. You can set pre-infusion and a reduced final phase at 3 bar directly on the display – functionally comparable to a simple pressure profile, without a separate flow control valve.

How long does the R58 Tune take to heat up?

Thanks to the TCA E61 Fast Heat-Up brew group, the machine is ready for use in about 10 minutes. Classic E61 machines typically take 20 to 30 minutes.

Does the R58 Tune have a direct water connection?

Yes. The R58 Tune comes standard with a fixed water connection and can be switched between tank operation (1.9 liters) and fixed water.

Is Flow Control included with the R58 Tune?

No, Flow-Control is not standard. A Flow-Profile valve can be retrofitted as an option. However, pressure phases can already be programmed using Tune Technology.

What distinguishes the R58 Tune from the R58 V2?

Frequently Asked Questions

I bought a new coffee grinder from Naturbohne and there are coffee residues in it.

Please note: Some manufacturers test their coffee grinders before shipping, which means that small coffee residues or bean residues can occasionally be found in the grinder. This procedure is used to test functionality and is considered a quality feature. Of course, we only sell new products - unless expressly stated otherwise.

Static charge – coffee grounds spray out from the side

With some coffee grinders, the ground coffee can become statically charged and spray out of the portafilter at the side. This means that not all of the ground coffee gets into the portafilter, which can lead to uneven extraction. Our recommendation: Use a dosing funnel to ensure that all of the ground coffee is precisely fed into the portafilter - for optimal espresso enjoyment.

What is dead space in coffee grinders?

Conventional coffee grinders often leave a so-called dead space in which coffee residues accumulate. These residues can not only affect the freshness, but also lead to old and fresh coffee grounds being mixed, which negatively affects the taste. In contrast, single dose grinders have a well-thought-out design that eliminates the dead space. Each portion is ground individually and precisely so that no residues are left behind - for a consistently pure and full-bodied coffee experience.

Which portafilter fits my espresso machine?

When choosing the right portafilter for your portafilter machine, it is important to know that each manufacturer develops its own brewing group - the most well-known is the Faema E61. However, this does not mean that any portafilter will fit without any problems. An incompatible portafilter can leak, which will have a direct negative impact on the quality of your espresso. We therefore recommend using either the portafilter originally supplied or one that is explicitly stated to be compatible with your machine. This will ensure that the pressure is optimally built up and the espresso is perfectly extracted.

Can I visit you or pick up the goods personally?

Yes, of course, you are welcome to come by and look at our products by appointment. We would be happy to advise you personally. The best thing to do is to send us an email with a few suggested appointment times.

We are located 5 minutes from the motorway between Stuttgart and Lake Constance on the edge of the Black Forest.

Important note, first use coffee grinders

Another little tip for the perfect start with your new mill:

You will get the best grinding result after you have ground about 1-2 kg of beans. It is best to use a few cheap beans so that the grinder can work optimally. And if you are wondering what you can do with the bean flour - it is perfect plant fertilizer! 🌿

It contains nitrogen, potassium, sulfur and phosphorus and is a real nutrient bomb for your plants.

  3. Värmeförlust under stilleståndstider.
  5. Missförstånd i tillämpningen.
