Hario V60-02 Dripper made of steel and copper
Hario V60-02 Steel Dripper – Matte Black (VDM-02)
The Hario V60-02 Steel Dripper in Matte Black and Copperis the perfect choice for anyone who wants to brew filter coffee consciously, precisely, and with maximum control. The V60 is the global standard in pour-over coffee, and the metal version combines the iconic V60 design (60° cone, spiral ribs, large opening) with a particularly robust, durable stainless steel housing and a modern, matte black finish.
Why a V60 dripper? Taste, control, clarity
With the V60, you determine the result yourself: grind size, water quantity, temperature, and pouring technique directly influence the taste. This makes the V60 ideal for anyone who wants to get the most out of good beans—from clear, fruity cup profiles to chocolatey, round results.
Advantages of the steel version (matte black)
- Robust & suitable for everyday use: Stainless steel is durable, impact-resistant, and ideal for the kitchen, office, or travel.
- Good heat conductivity: The dripper heats up quickly – for a more stable brew when you preheat it briefly.
- Removable silicone base: secure footing, comfortable to handle, easy to clean.
- Size 02: ideal for 1–4 cups – perfect for everyday use and guests.
- Modern design: the matte black fits perfectly into minimalist setups and high-quality kitchens.
Who is the Hario V60-02 Steel ideal for?
- Beginners who are starting out in the world of hand-brewing and are looking for a durable setup.
- Advanced users who want to reproduce brewing recipes and finely control flavor profiles.
- Offices and teams who want a robust, quick-to-use solution for high-quality filter coffee.
- Travelers who prefer a sturdy dripper that is not as fragile as glass or ceramic.
Quick brewing recommendation (starter recipe)
If you're looking for a solid starting point, begin with this:
- Coffee: 18 g (medium grind, like coarse table salt)
- Water: 300 g at approx. 92–96 °C
- Bloom: 40–50 g for 30–45 seconds
- Pouring: in 2–3 even pours up to 300 g
- Target time: approx. 2:30–3:15 minutes
Tip: Preheating (dripper + server/cup) ensures greater temperature stability and better reproducibility.
Please note that this productisnot dishwasher safe.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Which filters fit?
You need V60 paper filters size 02. These will give you the typical clarity and clean cup that the V60 is known for.
Doesn't metal get too hot?
Metal conducts heat well. That's exactly why it's worth preheating it briefly—then the brew will be more stable. The silicone base makes it comfortable to handle.
Is size 02 right for me?
Yes, if you usually brew 1–4 cups. Size 02 is also great for single small cups—just adjust the recipe and amount of water.
Is the V60 more fruity or chocolatey?
Both are possible. The V60 is very transparent: light roasts can taste fruity and clear, while darker roasts can taste rounder and more chocolatey – depending on the grind, ratio, and pouring technique.
Conclusion
The Hario V60-02 Steel Dripper in Matte Black is a durable, stylish hand filter for anyone who wants to prepare filter coffee with control and high quality – at home, in the office, or on the go.

Frequently Asked Questions
I bought a new coffee grinder from Naturbohne and there are coffee residues in it.
Please note: Some manufacturers test their coffee grinders before shipping, which means that small coffee residues or bean residues can occasionally be found in the grinder. This procedure is used to test functionality and is considered a quality feature. Of course, we only sell new products - unless expressly stated otherwise.
Static charge – coffee grounds spray out from the side
With some coffee grinders, the ground coffee can become statically charged and spray out of the portafilter at the side. This means that not all of the ground coffee gets into the portafilter, which can lead to uneven extraction. Our recommendation: Use a dosing funnel to ensure that all of the ground coffee is precisely fed into the portafilter - for optimal espresso enjoyment.
What is dead space in coffee grinders?
Conventional coffee grinders often leave a so-called dead space in which coffee residues accumulate. These residues can not only affect the freshness, but also lead to old and fresh coffee grounds being mixed, which negatively affects the taste. In contrast, single dose grinders have a well-thought-out design that eliminates the dead space. Each portion is ground individually and precisely so that no residues are left behind - for a consistently pure and full-bodied coffee experience.
Which portafilter fits my espresso machine?
When choosing the right portafilter for your portafilter machine, it is important to know that each manufacturer develops its own brewing group - the most well-known is the Faema E61. However, this does not mean that any portafilter will fit without any problems. An incompatible portafilter can leak, which will have a direct negative impact on the quality of your espresso. We therefore recommend using either the portafilter originally supplied or one that is explicitly stated to be compatible with your machine. This will ensure that the pressure is optimally built up and the espresso is perfectly extracted.

Important note, first use coffee grinders
Another little tip for the perfect start with your new mill:
You will get the best grinding result after you have ground about 1-2 kg of beans. It is best to use a few cheap beans so that the grinder can work optimally. And if you are wondering what you can do with the bean flour - it is perfect plant fertilizer! 🌿
It contains nitrogen, potassium, sulfur and phosphorus and is a real nutrient bomb for your plants.
