What sets the Quickmill 3035 Pegaso PID with Flow Control apart from its siblings?

The same product line, different configurations. The rows come from the same data sheet that appears further below.

Construction
thermoblock
Group head
Faema E61

The E61 was introduced in 1961 and has remained the reference point since. A thermosiphon keeps it at temperature continuously, instead of you having to search for it before each shot. You can get seals, shower screens and portafilters for it from specialty dealers, not just the manufacturer.

Temperature control
yes

A PID control continuously measures the temperature and regulates the heater accordingly, instead of simply switching it on and off at a threshold. The difference does not show in the first espresso of the day but in the third in a row: the machine hits the same point again.

Preinfusion
no
Flow control
yes

With Flow Control you manually control how quickly the water runs through the coffee grounds: start slowly, then increase pressure. That takes the edge off acidic beans and gives you an extra adjustment. Without Flow Control the extraction runs at a fixed pressure, and that is enough for most recipes.

Boiler volume
0.5 l
Boiler material
brass

Brass combines good thermal conductivity with robustness and has been common in espresso machines for decades. As with copper, water hardness determines how often you need to descale.

Water connection
water tank

With a tank the machine does not need a water connection and can be placed anywhere there is a power outlet. For that you have to refill, and the water quality is in your hands: filtered or soft water reduces descaling.

Steam power
normal to high
Extraction
manual
Pump type
vibration pump

The vibration pump is the most common type for home use: compact, affordable, reliable. It is audible, namely for the duration of the extraction, about half a minute.

Cup warmer
yes

The top surface of the machine is warmed by residual heat. A prewarmed cup draws less heat from the espresso, and those last degrees decide whether it still tastes the same in the glass as in the cup.

Standby
no

The machine switches itself off after a set time or goes into a low-power state. That saves electricity when you turn it on in the morning and then forget about it during the day. Without standby it stays on until you switch it off.

Portafilter diameter
58 mm

58 millimeters is the most common size. Baskets, tampers, levelers and distributors are available for it from many manufacturers, so you are not tied to an unusual size or a single supplier.

Who the Quickmill 3035 Pegaso PID with Flow Control is made for

Turn on and go, not turn on and wait.

A thermoblock only heats the water during extraction. The machine is ready within minutes and consumes nothing while just standing there.

  1. 01 For those who seek the temperaturePID control instead of on and off at a threshold. Lighter coffee needs different values than darker coffee, and here you set them.
  2. 02 Work on the recipeFlow control as standard. You change the flow during the extraction instead of just evaluating the result.
  3. 03 Morning rushReady after 5 to 7 minutes. No timer needed.

Useful accessories

The parts you really need

Wiedecent Tamper V6 58.35 mm Wiedecent Tamper V6 58.35 mm

The tamper supplied with most machines is made of plastic. A properly fitting tamper fills the portafilter basket to the edge, and it is exactly there that you find out whether the water will flow through evenly.

Brewing group brush with wooden handle Brewing group brush with wooden handle

Run it through the brew group once a day, two minutes of work. Without that, coffee oils build up on the shower screen and the extraction becomes uneven long before you taste it.

21,99 €incl. VAT.
PULY Caff Powder NSF PULY Caff Powder NSF

Backflush with a blind basket every one to two weeks. This removes the coffee oils from the group head and valve that the water jet does not reach.

Customer reviews

What customers say about Quickmill 3035 Pegaso PID with Flow Control

★★★★★
