Group head
Faema E61

The group head is a massive brass block and holds the temperature instead of chasing it. You can get gaskets, shower screens and portafilters anywhere, even in ten years.

Temperature control
no
Preinfusion
mechanical

Before full pressure the coffee grounds are pre-wetted with low pressure. This is done mechanically through the design of the brew group, without electronics and without adjustments. It prevents channeling in the puck, that is spots where the water breaks through too quickly.

Flow control
optional

With Flow Control you manually control how quickly the water runs through the coffee grounds: start slowly, then increase pressure. That takes the edge off acidic beans and gives you an extra adjustment. Without Flow Control the extraction runs at a fixed pressure, and that is enough for most recipes.

Boiler volume
1.5 l
Boiler material
brass

Brass combines good thermal conductivity with durability and has been common in espresso machines for decades. As with copper, water hardness determines how often you need to descale.

Water connection

Fillable from the top without moving the machine. That way it can sit anywhere there is a power outlet.

Pump type
vibration pump

The vibration pump is the most common type for home use: compact, affordable, reliable. It is audible, namely for the duration of the extraction, about half a minute.

Cup warmer
yes

The top surface of the machine is warmed by residual heat. A prewarmed cup draws less heat from the espresso, and those last degrees decide whether it still tastes the same in the glass as in the cup.

Standby
no

The machine switches itself off after a set time or goes into a low-power state. That saves electricity when you turn it on in the morning and then forget about it during the day. Without standby it stays on until you switch it off.

Should I buy the Bezzera Aria S MN or the Bezzera Aria Classic MN and TOP PID stainless steel, espresso machine with E61 & dual boiler?

I recommend the Bezzera Aria Classic MN and TOP PID stainless steel, as they are equipped with a PID control that allows for particularly precise temperature control.

Der 1,5-Liter-Kessel liefert starken Dampf, Bezzera gibt 'Stark' an. Praktisch schäumst du 300ml Milch in 25-30 Sekunden.
